All the news, if you can believe it
Dino Stamatopoulos gets in the holiday mood with “sad xmas songs”
Yeah, no jetpacks in 2023, but there’s A LOT going on at Baker Falls these days… from secret shows with Ariel Pink and Cass McCombs to skate mag DJ parties and cozy hot drinks.
We’d like to share what the future looks like…
Liquid Spaces
Full cafe service is arriving at Baker Falls. Starting January 2nd, our upstairs space opens at 10am for coffee and espresso. All day and night, we feature brews from Aficionado Coffee, served within days of roasting from beans that are responsibly sourced through our farming partners in Peru, Congo, and other well-known coffee production regions.
But upstairs is more than just a cafe. It’s a gathering space. We’re looking for like-minded operators to partner with us and take our food offerings to the next level as well as host short- and longer-term concepts. One plan we’re excited to present is a weekend Maker Faire with curated crafts booths, coming in January.
Same goes for our downstairs lounge, Feverdream. We’re becoming known for our cocktail program with a special selection of hot drinks like Spiked Spicy Cocoa, Mulled Cider, Hot Toddies, and Irish Coffees in an environment that will be hard to find anywhere else in the city.
If you’ve got an idea for the space, drop us a line. Dino Stamatopoulos just hosted “sad” holiday songs with special guests like downtown legend Lenny Kaye of the Patti Smith Group, and it got us very excited for what can and will be.
New Year’s Eve
You simply MUST swing by our New Year’s Eve ‘80s Dance Party. No cover before 11pm, and just $10 after that, free drink included. Curated playlists start in the afternoon, and we won’t stop until we drop, as DJ Two Tone Timmy keeps the dance jams going with a rock and new wave bent until 4am.
Hell, go for it and come dressed up in your favorite ‘80s getup like Madonna used to when she graced 101 Ave. A with her presence. Leg warmers are fashionable and useful through the winter.
You can just walk into that party, but for tickets to more upcoming events and shows at our Knitting Factory room, go here.
That’s all for now, much more to come.
And remember: Downtown is a State of Mind.
