Yes, Baker Falls is an upstairs music venue and coffee shop and downstairs lounge, but at its core, it’s a gathering space for creative minds and bodies. Throw yourself into the mix.

Weekend Art Fairs

We’ll be hosting a recurring series of Weekend Art Fairs featuring everything from vintage clothing “Recommerce” to maker crafts booths to Vinyl/CD record exchanges to comic book fandom. Expand your collections and discover sundries while bobbing your head to tunes from our original in-house playlists. The first Fair will land on Sunday, January 21st from 12-6pm.

If you’d like to sell your passion products at the Fair, please email [email protected] with a brief description and a few photos of what you would showcase at your table and we’ll hit you back with potential next steps.

Legit Theater Comes to Baker Falls

Grab tickets to Feverdream’s first theatrical play residency—a super unusual psycho-sexual thriller entitled Dead Brains, written and directed by Erik Champney. Read the flattering article in Playbill if you don’t believe us.

Full disclosure: the theater crowd will probably hear a low rumble from the rock shows upstairs but that’s the vibe baby.

See Downtown No-Wave pioneers Live Skull this Sat. In an overview of their abrasive no wave-influenced music, Trouser Press said, “As part of the same New York avant-noisy scene that spawned Sonic Youth, Lydia Lunch, and Swans.

Other Stuff

We feel compelled to shout out back to back OG East Village acts: The Veldt playing this Friday night, plus another legendary downtown band Live Skull this Saturday. Tickets are available for both at bakerfalls.com/calendar and at the door.

And finally… Baker Falls owner Nick Bodor will be bartending downstairs at the Feverdream lounge this Saturday night with his personal playlist setting the vibe, just like the good old days at Cake Shop and The Library Bar. Come by and whisper that you received this Dispatch and you’ll receive a Founder’s Card. What is that? You’ll have to show up and find out.

That’s all for now, stay tuned for more announcements and opportunities in the coming weeks, and remember: Downtown Is a State of Mind.
