Baker Falls Dispatch
All the news, if you can believe it
Enumclaw bringing the indie rock to NYC…touring all the way from Tacoma, Washington.
Really Happy Hour
The newest, most bleeding edge folks have been DJing at our Friday New Colossus Happy Hour. We’ve made new pals like Sam Sumpter (creator of Bands do Brooklyn), Sid Simons (who was spinning all vinyl), and members of one of our new favorite local bands, Gift.
A Cafe with Personality
Big things happening at the Soundcheck Cafe, as we add a little color to the walls and ramp up our new wine program with (good) wines by the glass or bottle:
Red
White
Rose
Orange
And bubbles
We have all the colors of the rainbow…
Plus Rainbow Cake(!) and other sweet treats like our getting-famous-fresh-baked cookies.
Looking for something more savory? Try our fresh meat or veggie toasted sandwiches, which people seem to like.
And what would a cafe be without bagels? Coming this week.
We open at 10:00 a.m. every day, so grab a coffee to go… or stay for a chat with our awesome baristas, Sage and Nazanin.
What an evening we had last Saturday celebrating a Pyramid Club reunion, which brought pioneering creatives back together at 101 Ave A NYC for the oral history book release of “We Started a Nightclub:” The Birth of the Pyramid Cocktail Lounge as Told by Those Who Lived It.
You’re reading it here first: the show crowd is going to be featured in the “Look Book” Section of the New York Magazine print edition coming out May 6th. That means we’ll be on actual, physical newsstands everywhere. This is what happens when you come to Baker Falls.
We’ll leave you with a charming common thread from 101 AVE A NYC 10009…

As you can see, downtown is a state of mind.
